About

…translations.

This translations blog will focus mainly on in-game content from Wind Boys!.

For translations of pre-release content, please see @moltoarticulate on Twitter and @wind-boys on Tumblr. I may post those translations over here someday as well, but that would most likely be in the far-off future.

How did you fall into Wind Boys!: I can’t remember how I came across it, but I do know that rather than having it been introduced to me by others, I’d discovered it on my own. I was really into a certain other gameIDOLiSH7 back then, and I’m a band geek, so the concept of a game about concert band naturally caught my attention.

(To be honest, though, as much as I was really interested in it, falling into it hard wasn’t something sudden. I’d been translating whatever pre-release content was available at the time (the character profiles and wind comics), and it just…gradually…happened. You can say that I got emotionally attached to it as time passed. It’s also why this is the only fandom I’m ever in where I actually don’t have a clear favourite character!)

Why did you start translating Wind Boys!: …I actually have no idea…!?!? It was May 2019, I was in my third year of university as an undergraduate with spare time between lessons. And Wind Boys! was so new that there wasn’t a single person translating its content, so I figured that I might as well. I love band and really, really wanted people to know about the game, after all.

Looking back, it was an insane decision for loads of reasons. I’d never ever translated anything in my entire life prior to that so I really was going into it blind. And I never ever thought that I’d still be at it three years down the road. It’s nuts. But I’m glad I made that move, no matter how crazy it was. Through Tumblr, then Twitter and Discord, I’ve made so many friends along the way, and here I am now, in November 2021, the game’s released, and here you all are, enjoying this game together with me. So let’s keep going at it from now on.
