[Event Story] Grave! Monochrome Easter ~Overture~, Page 1

“Monochrome Easter”

Takara, Ryotaro, Daisuke, and Yahiko come to listen to a live performance in the jazz café ‘Yumemidori’ at Izuru’s introduction—

♪~~~~~♪~~♪♪……

(The audience applauds.)

Clapclapclapclap!!

Daisuke                    Brilliant! The repertoire, the skills, and the unity… It was a performance where everything was very wonderful!

Ryotaro                   Indeed. I’m also thankful that I get to watch and hear a baritone sax performance up close like this.

Takara                      Yes, I’ve learnt a lot from this as well! And…

Takara                      I haven’t really had many chances to listen to live jazz performances so freely right in front of my very eyes, so this was really fun.

Yahiko                      Chameleon-kun’s words have a point. It is difficult to get one’s hands on performance tickets multiple times when one is a regular student after all.

Ryotaro                   Izuru mentioned this, but today’s performance was delivered by a voluntary team of working adults who ‘want to liven up ‘Yumemidori’’.

Takara                      If I recall, they perform around twice a month, don’t they. Both Izuru and those people are working hard in order to liven up this store, I see.

Daisuke                    Is that so…! To think that they take out time from their busy days to do this for the sake of a store they’re emotionally attached to…

Daisuke                    Such dedication… I’m deeply impressed!

Daisuke                    Ahh… I wonder what we ought to do in order to convey our gratitude to ‘Yumemidori’, for having made us feel such emotions.

Ryotaro                   Wouldn’t…applauding and cheering be the best way to go?

Daisuke                    That is, of course, the most important, isn’t it. It’s just that, should there be anything else that we’re able to do…

Daisuke                    That’s right! How about we deliver a performance as Ibuki Concert Band onstage at ‘Yumemidori’ as well?

Takara・Ryotaro     Eh?

Daisuke                    And we’ll also put in effort through announcements and promotions, to have many guests come to ‘Yumemidori’!

Yahiko                      Oho…and the essence of that would be?

Daisuke                    I’m certain that, as you all have said, there are many people who would like to listen to a live performance up close, you know.

Daisuke                    So I figured that there’d be more opportunities for a variety of people to listen to live performances if we were to be performers here, you see.

Ryotaro                   I see… We’ve got our own social media accounts after all, so we may be able to help with gathering customers to this store.

Takara                      I approve as well! I’d be happy if many different people could listen to a live performance, anyway.

Yahiko                      Aye, there are no reasons for me to object, either.

Ryotaro                   At any rate, we’ll first have to obtain the owner’s permission before we do this. Let’s first speak to—

Daisuke                    Ryotaro-kun! I’ll try talking to him. Wait for me for a little, everyone!

(He runs off.)

Taptaptap…

Ryotaro         H-Hey…! Sigh, Maruyama’s drive is the same as always…

Takara            Ahaha. He’s the same as Kojiro in that aspect, in the way that only siblings can be. I wonder if the owner will agree to it.

Yahiko           I don’t believe there’s a reason to turn us down, though. At the very least, I can imagine things progressing in a good direction.

Ryotaro         Yeah. It’s not a bad suggestion for both ‘Yumemidori’ and Ibuki’s band, after all.

Tap tap tap…

(Daisuke returns to them.)

Daisuke                    Thanks for waiting, everyone! I’ve spoken to the owner, Shimizu-san!

Takara                      Thank you very much, Maruyama-senpai. What did he say?

Daisuke                    When I told him that Ibuki Concert Band wanted to liven up ‘Yumemidori’ through a performance onstage, he accepted with pleasure.

Ryotaro                   I see…that’s great to hear. Well then, we’ll first discuss this with Sensei and Atsukage—

Daisuke                    Ahh, Ryotaro-kun. There’s something that I’d like to discuss with you all before that.

Ryotaro                   There’s something you’d like to discuss?

Daisuke                    When I’d suggested this, Shimizu-san murmured something softly.

Daisuke                    That “It’ll be nice if we could organise an event together with the performance that’ll go with the season, though”.

Daisuke                    Something came to my mind, listening to his words. That rather than just performing to liven up ‘Yumemidori’—

Daisuke                    How about we try holding an ‘Easter Event’ that ties in with our performance!, you see.

Takara・RyotaroYahiko        !

Ryotaro                   An easter event huh… Now that’s another thing out of the blue.

Daisuke                    Ahh, I’m sorry. I’ve just been going on about my ideas since just now, haven’t I.

Daisuke                    It’s almost the season for Resurrection Sunday…Easter, right? Easter’s a very unique and interesting event, you know.

Daisuke                    I think it’ll be perfect as a seasonal event to liven up the venue. How about it!

Takara                      Easter’s an event with a motif of eggs and bunnies, right. That sure sounds interesting.

Daisuke                    Yeah, that’s right! I’ve participated in it at my British grandfather’s place, and it was fun, you know.

Ryotaro                   I agree that it’ll be nice to hold the event as a tie-in with our performance, but…

Ryotaro                   Easter’s got a colourful and pop impression to it, right. Will it fit the atmosphere of the gothic ‘Yumemidori’?

Daisuke                    Ah! You’re right…!

Daisuke                    If you consider the fact that we ought to align the atmosphere, then it’s true that it may diverge from the image that ‘Yumemidori’ has, indeed.

Daisuke                    Thanks for pointing that out, Ryotaro-kun. It’ll be nice if there’re any other suitable seasonal events for this, though…

Yahiko                      ……

Yahiko                      Hm. If that’s the case, then we should just fit the very event to the store’s atmosphere, shouldn’t we.

Ryotaro                   Fit the event to the store’s atmosphere… What do you mean by that?

Yahiko                      In other words, we should hold an easter event that blends in with the atmosphere at ‘Yumemidori’.

Yahiko                      Also known as…a ‘Monochrome Easter’!

Takara                      ‘Monochrome Easter’!?

Ryotaro                   Nah, what on earth’s with that…

Yahiko                      As the name suggests, it’ll be a ‘Yumemidori’-limited Easter event, that’s based on chic black tones rather than colourful hues.

Daisuke                    ‘Monochrome Easter’…! That’s wonderful, Yahiko-kun! We’ll probably pull things off without destroying the atmosphere of ‘Yumemidori’ with this!

Takara                      Ahaha, this sounds nice! I want to participate in ‘Monochrome Easter’ as well!

Yahiko                      An Easter event with a new concept… How deeply intriguing. It’ll probably turn out to be an interesting event, don’t you think.

Daisuke                    Yeah, I’m sure that it’ll cause a buzz! Alright, let’s all do this then, shall we! The ‘Monochrome Easter’!

Takara・Yahiko       Yeah!

Ryotaro                   ……

Ryotaro                   I wonder if this will really turn out alright…?

To be continued…
